Yew tree, St Peter's Churchyard
Churchyard yew trees have long been regarded as special, even sacred, and thus have been managed and cared for over the centuries. It has been recognised that yew foliage and yew wood have been used in church ceremonies for hundreds of years so this shows that the tree has had a symbolic association with our spiritual needs.
