Mayor's House
Imposing brick residence for the Mayor of Winchester, set beside the Guildhall. An armorial gateway leads into the yard in front of the house. This is one of the five English official mayoral residences.

View from Room 313 of Travelodge, Winchester
Travelodges are not noted for good views, this one taken at about 8am has an interesting shadow of a structure on the roof, and a clear blue sky which preceded a lovely late April day.
The best thing about the Travelodge is that it is a short walk from Winchester Cathedral. Very convenient as I was singing in a concert there the same evening, along with other members of Leeds Festival Chorus, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Bournemouth Symphony Chorus.

Back entrance to Debenhams
This Norman arch dating from about 1100, from the cathedral grounds into the main street, is now a cut through to Debenhams. Their fire escape comes out here.
