I am sure in my youth this was referred to as Peartree Common, but that name doesn't appear anywhere on the map. Peartree Avenue cuts through this top part.

Mary Gaulter monument - Jesus chapel, Pear Tree Green
Mary Gaulter, wife of Henry Gaulter who died in 1819 age 27, is commemorated on this monument to her father Nathaniel Ogle of Kirkley, Northumberland. She probably died of eclampsia four days after the birth of her son, who survived for just a week after the death of his mother.
