River Avon at Pewsey [1]
The infant River Avon flows underneath these houses in High Street.
The Avon begins as two separate rivers with the eastern Avon rising just east of Pewsey adjacent to the Kennet and Avon Canal. The two merge at Upavon, flowing southwards across Salisbury Plain then along the western edge of the New Forest and meets up with the River Stour at Christchurch, to flow into Christchurch Harbour.

The yellow box contains a defibrillator for use in a potentially life-threatening emergency. The defibrillator applies a therapeutic electric current to the chest or heart to stop irregular contractions, or fibrillation, of the heart.
