HST125 heading towards London
The High Speed Train is travelling from the west towards London Paddington. It may stop at Didcot, the next station up the line and will stop at Reading. This picture was taken about half an hour before sunset, which was shortly after 17.00 today. NOTE. This image was obtained from the road bridge over the railway on the road to Compton Beauchamp. High Speed Trains are the most frequently seen trains on this line.

The train is now in its fourth decade but still doing sterling service. Its next stop will be either Didcot or Reading with a final destination of London Paddington.

New moon at sunset, near Compton Beauchamp
The colours here are as seen by the camera. The sun had set about fifty minutes before the picture was taken. The moon is brand-new but the whole disc can be seen, traditionally an indication that rain is on the way.
