The King and Queen, Highworth
Parts of this old pub are said to date back to the 15th century, although most of what can be seen here is 18th century. The pub is reputed to be haunted, so there may be more spirits than those sold at the bar.

High Street looking east, Highworth
The High Street is the main commercial and shopping street in the town, and contains many fascinating old buildings. Although Highworth is now mainly a dormitory town for nearby Swindon, it has retained a wide range of shops, pubs and other businesses. Many of these are to be found in the High Street, but the town's many old back streets and lanes are well worth exploring too.

Number 7 High Street was built circa 1832 as a workshop for a prominent local person. The building was occupied by Lloyds Bank for many years until closure in 2014. Very recently (February 2019) planning permission has been granted to convert the building to apartments.
