Wilts & Berks Canal (North Wilts Branch) looking south-east from Mouldon Lock
The North Wilts branch formerly connected the main Wilts & Berks Canal with the Thames and Severn Canal, and ran between Swindon and Latton. This is the view south-east along the disused canal from Mouldon Lock, the lowest of the flight of three Moredon Locks.

Purton Road bridge over the Wilts & Berks Canal (North Wilts Branch)
The Purton Road bridge over the Wilts & Berks Canal (North Wilts Branch) was built in 2001 by the developers of the adjacent housing development, under a contract from Swindon Borough Council. The tunnel on the left takes the Canal, while that on the right the combined towpath and cycle track. Detail, Mouldon Lock, Wilts & Berks Canal (North Wilts Branch)
Mouldon Lock, on the disused North Wilts branch of the Wilts & Berks Canal, was the lowest of the flight of three Moredon Locks. The North Wilts branch formerly connected the main Wilts & Berks Canal with the Thames and Severn Canal, and ran between Swindon and Latton. This lock was restored, except for its gates, in 1988. This picture shows the modern concrete wall at the position of the stop plank grooves, with the top wing walls splaying out behind it. To the left is the top culvert. Mouldon Lock, on the disused North Wilts branch of the Wilts & Berks Canal, was the lowest of the flight of three Moredon Locks. The North Wilts branch formerly connected the main Wilts & Berks Canal with the Thames and Severn Canal, and ran between Swindon and Latton. This lock was restored, except for its gates, in 1988.
