Recreating this ‘First’ for the square https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/110312 . The hedge has grown to conceal the car park, and new buildings conceal the Monument Record Centre!

Firefly Avenue, Swindon
Viewed across the B4289 Kemble Drive. Firefly Avenue leads to the Steam Museum. Firefly was a class of broad gauge 2-2-2 steam locomotives used for passenger services on the Great Western Railway. The class was in service from 1840-1879. A replica Firefly http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1920334 is in Didcot Railway Centre.

Great Western 4-6-0 No. 7819 Hinton Manor was removed from the designer outlet shopping village, returning to the Severn Valley Railway; classmate No. 7821 Ditcheat Manor replaced it in the shopping village, moving around the corner from STEAM museum; and 2-8-0 No. 2818 arrived at the museum from the National Railway Museum at Shildon.
Here we see No. 2818 on its arrival.

Old Railway Quarter redevelopment, Swindon
One of the original buildings from the Great Western Railway's massive locomotive works. This is being converted to apartments but does include a Listed chain test house that is to be preserved. This includes a hydraulic chain tester with a 130 ton pull and I look forward to seeing this one day.
