15100 at Swindon ? 1963
This was a one-off prototype diesel-electric shunter for the Great Western Railway, built in 1936 by Hawthorn Leslie and English Electric. Similar locomotives were built for the LNER and LMS, eventually developing into the large class that was eventually given the Class 08 designation.

D600 'Active' at Swindon ? 1963
One of a class of just 5 locomotives that the British Transport Commission ordered for use on the Western Region. The hydraulic transmission was similar to the locomotives that the region had developed itself, but otherwise was not to their liking. The class lasted less than 10 years in service.

Unidentified 'County' class locomotive withdrawn at Swindon ? 1963
The County class were the final development of the GWR 4-6-0 type, introduced in 1945. Built as a potential precursor to a pacific type for the GWR which never materialised.

5815 withdrawn at Swindon ? 1963
These small tank engines were built by the Great Western Railway for use on branch lines, working both passenger an freight trains. Most of them were fitted for work as push-pull units https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6090414 but the 20 numbered 5800-5819 were not so equipped.
