An enclosed avenue
This field was open and had many trees in it for years. However, given that it is now occupied by horses, the fencing looks quite modern.

Great Somerford war memorial
The men of the village are recorded here, fourteen form WWI, thirteen from WWII. Funds were raised in the aftermath of the Great War and this cross erected in 1921. Good to see that remembering the fallen is not limited to one day in November.

Turn into Park Lane
The road in Great Somerford turns right before going through the heart of the village before crossing the River Avon and on to Little Somerford. To make that clear, a freshly restored and hand-painted wooden signpost points the way.
