Unity and Loyalty
The carving above the Jubilee Building in Market Place carries the town motto. It also marks the dates 1837-87, being the Golden jubilee of Queen Victoria. The buildings were originally the place of a literary and scientific institute, but now houses the Borough Lands Charity. St Andrew's spire emerges in the background.
