The Bell on the Common, Broughton Gifford
Deeds show that the pub was sold in the late 18th C but probably had been in existence for a considerable time before that. The adjoining common is 28 acres in area and once sported 4 ponds.

Cricket pavilion and village pond, Broughton Gifford
The pavilion is also a farm building and if the wrong door is left open a batsman may find himself returning to the pavilion to be confronted by a duck in the dressing room, a particularly distressing experience if he was out without making any runs.
