It might look like an unexploded bomb but it is in fact a rather battered-looking EIIR postbox. Here, workers are putting a strap around the box prior to its being hoisted in position by a forklift truck.

The EIIR postbox is being lowered into position by a small group of construction workers. It is plainly a previously-used box. I can't remember there being one at this location before though.

The EIIR postbox is in position having been bedded in dry-mix concrete. Two paving slabs remain to be cut to fit round the base of the box. This part of Canal Walk is being repaved.
