Approaching the end of the Calne Branch
What looks like an infilled lock chamber marks the end of the restored section of the Calne Branch of the Wilts and Berks Canal. Opened in 1801 and abandoned in 1914, the canal is now being slowly restored by the Wilts and Berks Canal Trust.

Locked completely
One of the old canal locks still stands with water on one side. It clearly is not a genuine functioning lock as the other side is now earth and gravel.
