Pastures at Woodbridge Farm
It was not a particularly hot day but the cattle were all taking shade by the far hedge. Maybe they preferred to be away from the railway. This photo was taken from the 1158 Penzance to London Paddington train, having left Castle Cary at 1550.

A short walk around Littleton Panell [2]
The Reading to Taunton railway line crosses the A360 road. The road under the bridge is controlled by traffic lights and there is a height restriction which requires high vehicles to detour through the village of Great Cheverell on very narrow road. Starting from the former Lavington railway station on the Reading to Taunton line, the walk heads south along the A360 road, which becomes Littleton Panell High Street. Turning northeast, the route is along Russell Mill Lane and the ensuing bridleway to Spin Hill. From the junction of Spin Hill and Ledge Hill, a bridleway leads back to the A360 road, which is then followed northwards to the starting point. Just over 2½ miles.
