A short walk around Littleton Panell [40]
A view looking northwest from the bridleway. Beyond the ridge of Ledge Hill is seen the embankment of the Reading to Taunton railway line. Beyond, the view extends towards Melksham.
Starting from the former Lavington railway station on the Reading to Taunton line, the walk heads south along the A360 road, which becomes Littleton Panell High Street. Turning northeast, the route is along Russell Mill Lane and the ensuing bridleway to Spin Hill. From the junction of Spin Hill and Ledge Hill, a bridleway leads back to the A360 road, which is then followed northwards to the starting point. Just over 2½ miles.

From the junction of Spin Hill and Ledge Hill, this bridleway runs to the A360 road.

2010 : West at the top of Ledge Hill
A footpath heads down the hill to Wick Farm and Littleton Panell.
West Wiltshire farmland opens before us looking toward Great Cheverell, the north western escarpment of Salisbury Plain is off to the left.
A hint of the eastern Mendips can be seen in the distance.
