2009 : Local bus on Devizes Road, Poulshot
Poulshot is about a mile north to south and less than 200 yards east to west.
Very little through traffic and the A361 is far enough to the north. One public house and a few farms.

Mounting block at the Raven
By the wear on the mounting block it has been used many times.
These steps were an important feature in the days when horses were the common mode of transport. The ladies with their long skirts would have had great difficulty in mounting their horses (even side-saddle) without the aid of these steps.

Sign for the Raven Inn
The raven (Corvus corax) is the largest member of the crow family. It lives in bleak mountains, where its harsh, deep 'kronk' can be heard as it soars high in the sky.
