Cat on the track
Just north of Cookham station a tabby cat was calmly walking along one of the rails. Calmly, because there was a train in the station just about to set off in this direction. This is the branch line to Bourne End and Marlow. It looks very ropey track.

The 'Marlow Donkey' at Cookham
A southbound train from Marlow and Bourne End arrives at Cookham - photo taken from the level-crossing just north of the station. Notice the rather overgrown state of the track. The service along this branch-line from Maidenhead is traditionally known as the 'Marlow Donkey', and somehow escaped the knackers in the 1960's, when many a branch line fell to Dr Beeching's axe.
