Old Milestone by the A4, Bath Road, Littlewick Green
Carved stone post by the A4, in parish of White Waltham (Windsor and Maidenhead District), Bath Road; between junction with Burchett's Lane and roundabout to industrial park, Littlewick Green, opposite Bath Cottage, behind path where shrubs cut back; back to fence on sown grass; by bus stop sign, on South side of road. Bath Road limestone pillar, erected by the Maidenhead turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-

Telephone Exchange, Littlewick Green
Situated down a track off the A4 Bath Road, this TE replaced the former manual TE in Littlewick Green, together with the TE at Hurley in the late 1960s. It is to be hoped that the rubbish in the containers will soon get removed as it looks unsightly. The microwave dish on a post at the extreme left of the photo is directed towards the BT radio station at Bagshot Heath, SU8962 refers. This TE has (01628) 82xxxx numbers and it's postcode is SL6 3QR.
