Taplow railway station
The station was opened in 1871 and the fine latticework footbridge dates from 1884. It was refurbished at a cost of £250,000 in 2006, and the GWR logo and the date are picked out in yellow on either side.

Last Photo
This is the last photo I could get of the footbridge at Taplow station, it is being removed as part of the electrification of the GWR. The next time I went through it was gone

Taplow railway station, Buckinghamshire
Opened in 1872 by the Great Western Railway on its line from London Paddington to Reading, it replaced an earlier station some 450m behind the camera position. View east towards Burnham and London, some 4 years after the line was electrified and a new footbridge, lifts and fencing erected. Compared to Image taken in the opposite direction, the platforms seem a good deal more cluttered.

Taplow Station
The waiting room for westbound services shown in Image, seen from the footbridge. The frequent non-stopping trains use the far tracks, although passengers on platforms 3 and 4 are constantly warned about keeping back from the track edge, except when a train actually arrives there.

Taplow Station, with Paddington - Weston-super-Mare express
View eastward, towards London; ex-GWR Paddington - Reading and the West main line. This was one of the odd trains to run down to Bath and Bristol via Newbury, Devizes, Bradford-on-Avon. The locomotive is 4-6-0 No. 5983 'Henley Hall' (built 10/38, withdrawn 4/65); it contrasts with newly-painted station.
