Porny School Plaque :Eton
The Eton Porny School was founded in 1800 by Antoine Pyron du Martre, French Master at Eton College. Anthony Porny being his anglicised name. The plaque indicates that the school was opened for the education of boys and girls in 1812. Refer to picture Image for additional information.

Eton Porny School
This building was the original location of Eton Porny School, established for primary education by Eton College French teacher Antoine Pyron du Martre, who became anglicised as Marc Anthony Porny. He died in 1802, left £4,000 in his will for the purpose and by 1813 a school for boys and girls had been established here. By 1863 the school had grown and moved to larger premises nearby. Since 1920 this building has been the home of the Eton ex-service men's club.

Eton Ex-Servicemen's Club
