The New Cut, Old Windsor
Looking north along the New Cut, dug in 1822 to take out the meander around what is now Ham Island. The moorings serve as a waiting area for Old Windsor Lock.

River Thames, New Cut above Old Windsor Lock
Footbridge from Old Windsor Lock to Ham Island, an inhabited man-made island in the River Thames at Old Windsor. It was a peninsula partly surrounded by a meander until 1822, when a channel of the river was made, the New Cut, to build Old Windsor Lock at its downstream end.
