Lord Mayors Drive, Burnham Beeches
Burnham Beeches, is owned and managed by the Corporation of London, hence the name of the drive and the corporation crest on the board. Concerned by the unchecked expansion of London, The Corporation began acquiring land in the 1880s to ensure that at least some countryside would remain accessible for Londoners to come out to. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_parks_and_open_spaces_managed_by_the_City_of_London_Corporation

The Druid's Oak, Burnham Beeches
The Druid's Oak at Burnham Beeches is believed to be about 800 years old. Although not listed among the 50 Great British trees before it lost some of its branches it must have been really impressive. For details relating to the oak refer to picture Image

Barn in Burnham Beeches
Service no apparent purpose other than a shelter. There used to be an iron age fort here, but clearly this is not contemporary with that.

Burnham Beeches: Druids Oak
This is considered to be the oldest living tree in Burnham Beeches, a pollarded oak that is probably at least 800 hundred years old. It was probably named during the penchant for naming things in Victorian times and old photographs from this era reveal that its overall shape has not changed greatly in the last hundred years or more. It can be found on the south-east side of the Lord Mayors Drive, so named because the City of London own and manage the woodland.
