Handforth station signs (1)
The station has acquired a number of signs in the styles of various railway companies both British and overseas. Here we see examples in the fashion of the Docklands Light Railway (left), Manx Railways (centre, behind the "official" sign) and Dutch Railways (right). See http://www.wilmslow.co.uk/news/article/11313/its-no-tail---handforth-station-goes-manx for more detail.

Handforth railway station
Opened in 1842 by the Manchester & Birmingham Railway on the line from Crewe to Stockport. View north east towards Cheadle Hulme and Manchester. The platforms were originally staggered; the one on the right is in its original position, the one on which the camera is located was new in 1960, having been previously on the far side of the road bridge.
