Cheadle House
Cheadle House was built on land known as Bloomiley's Croft (Meadow) at
plot 102 on the 1846 Tithe Map, owned by the Trustees of the late George Bancroft. In 1900 it was the residence of A Godson MA, MB, J.P. It was used as a Western Command Auxiliary Hospital during WWI. It was originally built as a large, high status private residence set back from Cheadle High Street within an extensive garden plot. Landscaped grounds fronted the High street until the land was sold for commercial development. ##30-32 High Street (Boots the Chemist and Co-operative Foods) now stand on the former front garden. The upper floors been converted into apartments. The ground floor is home to the Hair & Beauty Salon, Mehak's Glamour Lounge.
