The Avro Vulcan was a jet-powered delta wing strategic bomber which was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 until 1984. Avro Vulcan XM603 is one of the 19 surviving Vulcan Bombers which were designed and manufactured at Woodford from 1956 until 1965 although the maiden flight of the prototype was in 1953.
