Travis Brow
Apologies for the internal reflections in this photograph taken from the top deck of a bus in 2010. Since this was taken the scene has changed considerably. The bus stop and all the huge trees have completely gone. A new road has been constructed linking directly to Wellington Road North. Amongst other things the new road allows large vehicles to avoid the low bridge on George's Road Image

New path over Travis Brow
Looking up the new cycleway and footpath that climbs over Travis Brow and under the railway viaduct. The new extended A5145 leading direct to the A6 is mostly out of sight. On the right can be seen the original end of the A5145 which terminates at a roundabout on the other side of the bridge under the M60 motorway.

Travis Brow
At Travis Brow near Junction 1 of the M60, a bus lane, with adjacent cycle path and footpath, allows Westbound buses to avoid having to negotiate two busy roundabouts.

George's Road Columns
Two stone columns at the bottom of George's Road at Travis Brow. There is actually a metal pole in the middle of them not visible in this view. The columns can be seen from a different direction in Image I'm informed by Bill Ball who used to live on Travis Brow that they used to carry a railway bridge over George's Road to railway sidings.

George's Road Columns
The junction of George's Road and Travis Brow. The columns on the left were supports for one of the bridges which carried railway lines onto the railway sidings that once existed here.
