A splash of colour on a grey January day. The gardens have been a public park since 1902 and were renamed in 1953 to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

Hallam Mill
Although now named Hallam Mill, this was built as Heaviley Mill in 1860 for Ephraim Hallam. The main mill is 5 storeys built in brick and has a truncated octagonal chimney. It was a spinning mill with 31,000 spindles in 1897. I couldn't see an external engine house and this suggests it may have been gear driven with an internal engine. Photographed across Hallam Park.
