The Wire Mill - an old Institution for work
This is a shot of the Wire Mill that used to be powered by a water wheel - fed by water from the Black Brook. The mill burned down recently releasing a massive amount of toxins into the atmosphere. Locals were evacuated whilst it was brought under control.

Formerly Teapot Row - now known as Canal Cottages
The original name comes from the fact that all the dwellers used to empty their tea pots into the canal. With the new name, it is unfortunate for the person who lives at number four...

Teapot Row near Bugsworth Basin, Derbyshire
The half mile arm off the Upper Peak Forest Canal near Whaley Bridge leads to the historically important Bugsworth Basin. The stone cottages were called Teapot Row or Teapot Cottages. Was that really because the inhabitants used to empty their teapots into the canal? Some boring people have decided that "Canal Cottages" is far more dignified.
Huh!!

Canal Cottages and the Peak Forest Canal
Looking towards Buxworth. The sign on the water's edge is warning passing traffic about a reed bed. At the time of posting (May 2009) this area of the canal had a leakage problem affecting the cellars of the canalside cottages.
