Railway legacy at Whaley Bridge
A loading gauge still stands were the Cromford and High Peak Railway passed under the Stockport to Buxton line at bridge number 43. The bridge stood on the right behind the gauge seen standing amongst the shrubbery. There was a line used to access Shallcross sidings behind the photographer and passed straight ahead to join the Stockport to Buxton line at Whaley Bridge
