High Lee Terrace
Built in 1852, High Lee Terrace is one of several examples in New Mills of terraced houses built on top of each other. The front doors of the upper properties open onto Hague Bar Road (the B6101) whereas those of the lower property (the "underliving") open onto Station Road. Several similar properties exist on the steep slopes of the Goyt and Sett valleys in New Mills.

The Torrs Millennium Walkway
In the Torrs Riverside Park, the spectacular walkway was a Millennium Commission project built in 1999 along an otherwise inaccessible cliff wall above the River Goyt. Stan Brewster, one of the lead engineers on the project, was killed in the London bombings of 7th July 2005. Stan is remembered on a commemorative plaque on the bridge Image
