The Sett Valley Trail is also part of the Pennine Bridleway, with, it would appear, a number of sponsors. The route here is part of the old Hayfield Branch railway, closed in 1970.

The River Sett rises on Kinder Scout and becomes a tributary of the Goyt, which is in turn a tributary of the Mersey. It is seen here babbling through the outskirts of Hayfield.
