Spur off a spur
The spur from Hind Low Quarry can be seen; here there was another line round the quarries south west of Harpur Hill. The line continued through the land which is now the HSE Laboratories.

The village is quite well spread and the houses ahead at the southern extremity are known as Heath View. The main local activity is quarrying and Hindlow Quarry sits on the skyline.
