Early Purple Orchid, Horseshoe Dale
Early Purple Orchid (Orchis mascula) is one of the commonest British orchids, and the earliest to flower (April-June); occasionally (as here) white specimens can be found. Horseshoe Dale was carpeted with orchids and cowslips.
