Holy Trinity Church, Peak Dale, now disused
A notice on the door, from the Minister and Church Wardens, indicates that they are applying to the Concistory Court of the Diocese of Derby for permission to dispose of fixtures and fittings , and move the altar to St Paul's, Dove Holes,two wall mounted war memorials and lectern to Peak Dale Methodist Church, and three small items of plate to St Margaret of Antioch, Wormhill.

Church for sale in Peak Dale
I met an old woman who had lived in the village all of her life. She bemoaned the closure not only of the church but also more recently of the village chapel. No shops. No post office. No pub. She clearly felt these losses deeply.

At Holy Trinity Church, Peak Dale
The carving on the foundation stone refers to the day it was laid in 1885 when Captain William Sidebottom of Harewood Lodge, Broadbottom proudly raised his trowel. Now the church is disused and up for sale.
