House of 1887
See Image for the datestone. 1887 was the year L S Lowry and the architect Le Corbusier were born. It was the year that Conan Doyle's "Study in Scarlet" appeared in The Strand magazine, and Emile Berliner patented the Gramophone. The first whisky distilled at Glenfiddich was sold, and Queen Victoria celebrated her Golden Jubilee.

The Bedford, St John's Road, Buxton
This former care home has a real air of neglect and is rather creepy, particularly at night when only one or two lights are on. It was originally a care home for the cerebral palsy charity Scope but seems to have closed in 2008 or soon after. See http://www.buxtonadvertiser.co.uk/news/disabled-home-to-close-it-doors-1-648522
