Buxton, a first impression on arrival from the north.
This main road is the A5004, Manchester Road descending a steep hill toward the town centre.
From the left, the adjoining roads are Corbar Road and Devonshire Road.

Corbar Hill
Taken from the Slopes, Buxton, I am looking across The Old Hall to Corbar Hill. The domed building is the grade II* listed Devonshire Dome, part of the University of Derby's campus facilities.

Wye House, Buxton
I believe this neglected building on the northern edge of Buxton was once a private asylum, and later a school. New houses have been built nearby (just out of shot to the right) and the house itself may be due for renovation.

Vera Brittain's Blue Plaque in Buxton's Park Road
VB rather bad mouthed Buxton society in pre-WWI days so the town has only recently forgiven her and put this plaque up.
