Wye House, Buxton
I believe this neglected building on the northern edge of Buxton was once a private asylum, and later a school. New houses have been built nearby (just out of shot to the right) and the house itself may be due for renovation.

Buxton locomotive depot
The depot provided for many years outside Buxton station for diesel locomotives hauling stone out of the local area. Now closed with replacement facilities at Great Rocks junction. The earlier steam locomotive depot was behind Buxton signalbox, visible in the centre distance.

Railway Depot, Buxton
These Class 37s (right to left 37676 and 37681) were part of a fleet dedicated to hauling trainloads of stone from the nearby quarry. They were the only Class 37 locomotives to receive the Railfreight grey, with the addition of a red solebar. In the foreground are the diesel refuelling pumps. The depot has now closed and a new one has opened at Tunstead Quarry, Great Rocks. Buxton depot was a stop-over, on my way to Crewe.
