Railway Depot, Buxton
These Class 37s (right to left 37676 and 37681) were part of a fleet dedicated to hauling trainloads of stone from the nearby quarry. They were the only Class 37 locomotives to receive the Railfreight grey, with the addition of a red solebar. In the foreground are the diesel refuelling pumps.
The depot has now closed and a new one has opened at Tunstead Quarry, Great Rocks.
Buxton depot was a stop-over, on my way to Crewe.

Stranger at Buxton
A railtour has arrived from Bristol with locomotive 1015 "Western Champion" in charge. Former preserved class 52 stands in the station at Buxton, the first visit of one of these locomotives to the town. There are few charters that visit Buxton these days.
