Pylon in the Garden
This huge electric pylon is one of three that overlooks the houses on Cedar Avenue in Stalybridge. With a price tag of £269,995 in July 2007 for a four bedroom house on this avenue a potential buyer would have to ask the question "Do I want a pylon in my garden"

Canal under an electricity pylon
This unusual arrangement on the Huddersfield Canal came about because the pylon was erected during the period when the canal was closed. The only viable route for restoration of the canal was a very narrow section through the legs. This is thought to be the only such case on navigable waterways.
