Fenced-off fencing
At the former Hyde campus of Tameside College Image it appears that work is now about to start on "a collection of new 4 & 5 bedroom homes". Somehow the fact this was previously designated as Green Belt land has not prevented the sale of the land for housing development. According to a local politician the developers have gained outline permission which is not the same as "permission to build" and they currently have a "real" planning application which started earlier this month. So perhaps the signs are a little premature.

Tameside College: Stockport Road Campus
Hyde College on Stockport Road, Gee Cross opened around 1960. It later became part of Tameside College and was closed in July 2007. Having been in mothballs for many years the site is now being sold in order to help fund a super college in Ashton under Lyne and despite being on Green Belt land a planning application has been made for an estate of 40 houses to be built on the site.
