Affectionately known by locals as The King Bill.
The landlord in the 1980s was Derek Quinn who was the guitarist in the 1960s group, "Freddie and the Dreamers".

Bower Court, Newton, Hyde
This is a small road off Talbot Road. Amongst the buildings on Talbot Road is a rarity these days, a local post office.

195-199 Talbot Road, Newton
On the left is The Clarence Image, originally The Clarence Hotel Image and whilst in danger of closing in 2010 Image it was revived in 2012 Image
In the middle is #197 Talbot Road. Although it doesn't appear to be named it is Grade II listed http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-212494-197-talbot-road- and described as early 19th century; Flemish bond brick with coursed rubble rear and slate roof; two storeys; stone plinth and rusticated quoins. The central door has a rusticated surround with keystone.
The adjoining house #199 is a later addition having a name and datestone, Early Bank, 1900.
