Clarendon Place
From the corner of Clarendon Place looking across to an entrance to the Clarendon Mall. The "No Entry" signs are at the end of Market Place. At one time the main road from Lincoln and Sheffield to Manchester and Liverpool ran straight through the Market Place.

Clarendon Place
The first heavy snows of winter 2009 had fallen overnight. By mid-afternoon the bright sun had melted the snow on the roofs. The roads and pavements had been gritted and around the corner, the local shopping mall was busy. The bench seems to have been isolated on an island of snow. Someone has discarded gloves or a wolly hat on the bench. What is in the two black bags by the bus stop, I have no idea.

Lloyds Bank, Hyde
In September 2013 the Lloyds TSB Bank split off its former TSB Savings Bank branches pending sale/transfer to another banking group in 2014. The Hyde branch of Lloyds TSB reverted to being simply a branch of Lloyds Bank.

Ring & Ride
One of the "Ring & Ride" accessible buses dropping off in Clarendon Place. The service provides accessible transport for those unable to use normal buses. At one time journeys could only be booked the morning before but now the Tameside, Stockport and Manchester areas have a combined call-centre and bookings can be made up to a week ahead.
