A blustery day on Clarendon Street
The wind is trying to dislodge the covering over the scaffolding on Quality Save. The building was originally the Hippodrome It closed in the 1960s and the building was converted into a "Supermarket" though actually it was an "inside market" with various independent stalls on two storeys. That closed in the 1990s and was vacant for a few years before opening as Quality Save Image but only the ground floor is used for retailing.
On the right someone appears to have abandoned an umbrella.
At the bottom of the street is the bus station.

That closed in the 1990s and was vacant for a few years before opening as Quality Save. The building is now being restored and is expected to re-open in spring as Home Bargains.

The aroma is changing
The Aroma coffee shop next door to the Arthritis Research UK charity shop on Clarendon Street closed down many months ago. Now it is being refurbished and is expected to re-open soon.

Queuing at Quality Save
Like many large stores Quality Save on Clarendon Street were operating a one-in one-out system during the coronavirus pandemic. Although the outside of the building is covered in scaffolding the store is open as normal.
