The roadsign at the end of Dowson Road, the A627 from Stockport, directs all but local traffic left. The factory on the left was refurbished on the inside in July 2011 Image but still remains empty and unused.

Rainbow over Dowson Road
After earlier heavy rain, the sun had come out and was lighting up the houses on one side of Dowson Road. There was a rainbow reaching into a dark cloud - it was quickly fading as I got my camera out of the bag but the last of it is still visible at the end of the road.

Diverted traffic
I assume the sign is expecting diverted traffic to turn immediately right into the side street just ahead (Thornley Street) rather than right at the traffic lights on to Market Street.

End of Dowson Road
The junction of Dowson Road and Market Street. Ahead is Queen Street, once a busy through road, it is now blocked off by a school. The building on the corner, now a carpet salesroom was originally part of the Hyde Equitable Co-operative Society.
