Woodend Allotments
Now many of the allotments on the side of Woodend Lane have been abandoned (mainly due to the work of vandals) and some of the trees felled a view is afforded across the valley of the Gower Hey Brook. Some allotments half-way down the valley are still maintained. Werneth Low can be seen on the horizon. Compare the view in 2011 Image

Rails to Hyde
The railway towards Hyde Central and Manchester Piccadilly from Woodend Lane bridge. In the opposite direction the line runs via Woodley and Romiley to Rose Hill (Marple). Originally the line continued to Macclesfield. Beyond the pipeline that crosses the line can be seen the Croft Street bridge. Compare with the same view in March 2010 Image
