Latterly home to Volcrepe but now abandoned and derelict. The urban exploration sites suggest that it is quite good internally.

Demolition of Woods Mill
Part of the huge Howard Town Mill Complex, once one of the largest integrated cotton mills in England by the end of the 19th century. At the time of my visit, demolition was well under way and I passed by on the footpath beside Glossop Beck

Elim Christian Centre
The founder of this church was Richard Howton, a reformed prize-fighter. Prior to 1888 The Gospel Union and Blue Ribbon Mission of which Pastor A. Howton was the Evangelist was held in the then Liberal Hall Image The foundation stones for the church were laid on Saturday 15th July 1888 by Mrs. R. Howton (wife of Evangelist) and Mrs. J. Goldsmith of Union Street, Glossop. The Church came into Elim in 1931 and has existed as a centre of Pentecostal witness since. The Glossop Elim Church belongs to the Elim Foursquare Gospel Alliance.
