The end of Lady's Incline
This was the railway access to Lord Pit and Lady Pit, originally a rope work incline, but locomotive hauled from about 1889. The section visible here is more or less level and would have been horse drawn rather than rope worked until that time.

This was originally the local Co-operative store, and is unusual in being stone-built rather than in the local brick.

Former Colliery buildings
These are the remaining buildings at the site of Lady Pit. At one stage derelict, they have been well restored and converted to office use. The nearer building was the capstan house, the one behind being the main winding engine house.

The Old Pump House
This takes its name from the last use of the building - it contained pumping equipment to help drain other local mines after coal ceased to be extracted here - but this was in fact the winding engine house for the Lady Pit. Once derelict, it has been sympathetically restored and converted to offices. The right hand extension is entirely modern.

Lady's Incline
The course of the railway to Lord and Lady Pits. The brickwork indicates the location of the wheel pit at the top of the rope-worked incline. This was a self-acting incline, with the weight of loaded trucks running down the incline hauling up returning empties. It was converted to locomotive operation in 1889.
