Church of St. George, London Road
A grade II listed building, the church was erected in 1787 by Sir George Warren and was rebuilt in 1859 from designs by Mr. Crowther, architect, of Manchester. Built of stone in the Early English style, The tower with spire was erected in 1885 by public subscription as a memorial to the late Lord Vernon. It contains a clock with chimes and 6 bells. The church is dedicated to St. George.
