Jimi Hendrix by Otto Schade
A mural of Jimi Hendrix by Otto Schade overlooks Chestergate from the site of the former caretaker's flat at Merseyway. The installation focuses on the Underbanks' musical past paying homage to Jimi Hendrix who played at the Sinking Ship Club located on Royal Oak Yard in 1967.

The queue for Primark
Following the easing of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic Primark in Merseyway Shopping Centre has reopened. Restrictions on the number of people allowed in the store at any one time mean that a queue has formed all the way round the corner and almost to Chestergate.

Footpath closure on Chestergate
On the right is the Merseyway Shopping Centre which includes Primark. A bridge over Chestergate leads from the carpark above the shopping centre to High Bank Side and St Petersgate. On the left a footpath leads over the top of the entrance to the Stockport Air-raid shelters and towards St Peter's Church.
